American Federation of Mineralogical Society - The A.F.M.S.'s purpose is to promote popular interest and education in the various Earth Sciences, particularly the subjects of Geology, Mineralogy, Paleontology, Lapidary and other related subjects, and to sponsor and provide means of coordinating the work and efforts of all persons and groups interested therein; to sponsor and encourage the formation and international development of Societies and Regional Federations and by and through such means to strive toward greater international good will and fellowship. A.F.M.S. serves seven regional federations.

Rocky Mountain Federation of Mineralogical Society - The purpose of the Rocky Mountain Federation is to bring a closer association of all clubs in the Society, and to promote the study of earth sciences, including the lapidary arts, the study of fossils and paleontology, and related crafts

Lake George Gem & Mineral Club, Lake George, CO - The club meets the second Saturday of each month at the Lake George Community Center, located on the North side of US Highway 24 on the East side of town, sharing a building with the County Highway shops. During the Winter months (October through March) we meet at 10:00 am.From April through September, we meet at 9:00 am & have only a short 20-minute meeting (to allow more time for our amazing field trips).

Its primary objective is to precisely define global units (systems, series, and stages) of the International Chronostratigraphic Chart that, in turn, are the basis for the units (periods, epochs, and age) of the International Geologic Time Scale; thus setting global standards for the fundamental scale for expressing the history of the Earth.

Colorado Rockhounding: The purpose of this web page is to explain what types of minerals can be found in Colorado. Emphasis will be focused on crystalized specimens, although non-crystalized specimens will be mentioned.
Red Rocks Canyon Open Space: Red Rocks Canyon Open Space is located south of US 24 between Colorado Springs and Manitou Springs. Lots of trails along the canyons and ridges of red rock provide great views of Garden of the Gods to the north and city in general. Link to the Intemann Trail and Section 16 connects Red Rocks to many other hiking trails in the area.
